I LOVED The Color Purple, Soul Food, The Wood….all of those soulful, family oriented movies with a true meaning. Now I see The Help is coming soon. OMG, it looks so good!
How brilliant is that saying?! And how true too. Oh, and you really can’t have a flick like this without the incomparable Cicely Tyson. Oh, Im gonna cry just thinking about it.
Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling phenomenon, “The Help
Who doesn’t love Helen Mirren?! Well, she ‘s back in The Debt due for August 2011 release. Check out the storyline below and then enjoy the trailer!
The espionage thriller begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (Academy Award winner Helen Mirren) and Stefan (two-time Academy Award nominee Tom Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Ciarán Hinds of Focus’ “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day”). All three have been venerated for decades by their country because of the mission that they undertook back in 1966, when the trio (portrayed, respectively, by Jessica Chastain [soon to be seen in "The Tree of Life"], Marton Csokas [Universal's upcoming "Dream House"], and Sam Worthington ["Avatar," "Clash of the Titans"]) tracked down Nazi war criminal Vogel (Jesper Christensen of “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace”) in East Berlin. At great risk, and at considerable personal cost, the team’s mission was accomplished — or was it? The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations.
I know I should be all thrilled that Harrison Ford is in this flick. I mean, that could be the saving grace for Cowboys and Aliens. However, everytime I see the preview I just shake my head. I just don’t know that this flick is going to be on my list of movies to see.
It looks funky to me. I mean, I like the realistic factor in movies as much as the next person. I can handle crazy plots and scenearios too. But this??? I mean, it’s John Wayne meets E.T.!! ( I think John Wayne would win that battle.)
Am I crazy? Am I missing something here? It looks flat out nut-zoid to me and I don’t even know if I could sit through it to give a review!!!
What are your thoughts on Cowboys and Aliens? Trailer is below.
I went to the movie theaters this week to see Transformers: Dark of the Moon and sat through six previews. Most of the movies are on my list to see but one popped out as a must-see movie. Mission Impossible 4 – Ghost Protocol.
Now I know you are probably thinking I am a huge Tom Cruise fan. I have enjoyed a movie or two of his but when I saw Simon Pegg is in this movie I almost screamed. I love him. He may be one of the funniest actors out there and I am really looking forward to seeing him in this film. Enjoy the trailer (I only saw about a third of it so I can be fully surprised later). Also, Jeremy Renner is in it. Yeah!
I think we have run into this situation at one time or another in our working careers; horrible bosses. Personally, I feel we can learn something from every boss we have; good or bad.
We take something away from all of them. I my self have experienced this and that is why I am looking forward to seeing the new flick, Horrible Bosses.
I think it looks hilarious and is fresh humor. Many people who saw Hangover 2 said it was the same movie as the first one. I have not seen it yet, so I can not say for sure if that is the case….however, I am always happy with fresh, new comedy.
The previews for Horrible Bosses made me laugh out loud so I am looking forward to it. Check out the trailer below and let me know if you agree.
I have to admit, Crazy Stupid Love, might just change my life. I am a huge fan of Julienne Moore anyways; although The Kids Are Alright was a disappointment.
We just adore lost love movies and rekindled romances, don’t we?! Well, this one not only looks funny but heart-warming as well. The perfect mix with Steve Corelle and Julienne Moore. And the soundtrack sounds phenomenal! I am a music junkie though, I must say.
I would love to hear your thoughts on whether you think this flick is a see in the theater or wait for rental? I, myself, will be in the theaters July 29th, 2011 for the release date of Crazy Stupid Love.
Check out the trailer below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
What better way to stir up rekindled love rumors then filming a movie together right?! Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz team up in Bad Teacher.
Diaz plays a foul mouthed, drinking teacher and Timberlake plays a substitute teacher who becomes a love interest. Hmmm…I think we’ll see Chemistry class here folks, how bout you?!
I’m looking forward to the comic release of this film. Sometimes too many heavy films wear on the mind, ya know? So, a good comedy does a soul good. I don;t think Hangover 2 will do that for me. However, I HAVE to see it because the original was so freakin hysterical!
Anyways, check out the clip for Bad Teacher below and tell me what you think!
New MGM co-chairs Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum say the movie will start shooting in late 2011 for a worldwide release on November 9, 2012.
Daniel Craig will resume the role of Bond, James Bond for the new flick. Good….he is a sexy Mr. Bond!
Also returning to the Director’s chair is Sam Mendes. Screenwriter Peter Morgan (Hereafter) left the film after delivering a treatment off his original idea; Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan took over. OH!!! and who could forget Dame Judy Dench??! She returns to the role of “M.”
I think I am going to love this film!!! Check out the video below with Daniel Craig as Bond and feel the anticipation of Bond 23!!
Not sure it gets any bigger than a movie with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts…together. That is more than likely some heavy payroll going on there. Which I am sure producers are hoping for a huge return on investment in this one.
The premise of the movie sounds great and with those two powerhouses, I am sure it will delight audiences everywhere. Haven;t seen Hanks in a movie for a bit now and this should be an awesome pairing. Although, it’s a little weird to think of a love fest between Hanks and Roberts….kind of an “ew” moment for me. Says Hanks;
For “Larry Crowne,” the pair play a more age-appropriate duo; Hanks, a big box store employee laid off and headed back to junior college, and Roberts, his alcoholic teacher. Hanks says the film, which he also wrote and directed, works to send a message to the millions of downtrodden Americans hit hard by economic recession. It’s full of cynicism.
Sounds like fun to me!! What do you think? Can Roberts and Hanks return the joy of Pretty Woman and Sleepless in Seattle with Larry Crown? Check out the trailer below.
I enjoyed the original Clash of the Titans, back in ancient days! However, the newer one was okay. Maybe it’s because the original was so captivating for it’s time. It could be also that I have a hard time with remakes as most don;t do the original justice…in my opinion.
Clash of the Titans 2 is slated for release in 2012 and here is where the story picks up:
Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon.
I just don’t know how far we could take this movie and keep it good. Again, only my opinion. Check out the trailer for the original and tell me that wasn’t brilliant for it’s time! Now, COT2 is shot in 3D, but still, this was epic movie making at the time! When the new trailer is released, we will be sure to bring it to you!
